From start to finish the experience of our adoption way amazing.
Boy, do they know their dogs. The kennels are immaculate. Never seen such luxury for hounds. Everyone was so friendly and warm. We really feel we have adopted a whole family. When we are in a position to get second dog, there will be no hesitation on where we turn.
Simply the best xx

Really well run home for the dogs. It's not too big and the volunteers and staff know each of the dogs and their personalities. We had not owned a dog before and the team were very helpful in making sure we were properly informed of the benefits and responsibilities in adopting a greyhound. They take their job very seriously and we appreciate that.Good family/community feeling. We still feel connected to CCGT via facebook and fundraising events. Adoption: Feb 2012

Since adopting a lurcher x from CCGT I have never look ed back. the care, staff, facilities and info available were second to none. you can notice the difference from first impressions and I have had the pleasure of watching this charity flourish. it is a true community effort and for this reason deserves a special mention, as it is a reflection of the trust and respect that its supporters have in unashamedly championing responsible dog ownership and rehoming. they are always available to offer support before and after adoption, making the process not only hassle free but totally transparent. I challenge anyone to visit and not rehome a greyhound, after seeing the care that is taken you are driven to do your part. after all, every dog is a kennel with a trusted companion, and each have their own heated bed for that extra.homely comfort. The whole experience has been fantastic, the team are a dedicated bunch who are managed with kindness and consideration next to none.
the SUNVALLEY TRUSTIES work tirelessly to give the quality of environment to the dogs that is second to none.
All the dogs are given the gold ticket entrance to a new and better life, Celia Cross her self would be very very proud of the success that they have achieved over the years.
A BIG WELL DONE from me. Adoption: July 2013

I liked the link on Facebook and was impressed by the continuous updates and care and news of the dogs. The rescue dogs which need a home are on Facebook and it is such a friendly site and the staff care so much about the care of the rescue dogs which as an animal lover is imperative. I phoned the staff and they were so helpful it tempted me to take a look and visit. I was so impressed by the kennels which were spotless the welcome from the staff to me and my dogs and the excellent condition of the dogs. Everything was explained to me in detail and also excellent aftercare when we brought our dog home. I will highly recommend the Celia Cross Greyhound Trust to anyone and will certainly be getting my dogs from this centre in the future thank you so much they made my visit with my other dogs such a special one. The only place I would trust to get a rescue dog with two toddlers. We visited various greyhound rescues and they either had no suitable dogs or knew nothing about the ones they had. The dog's live in absolute bleedin' luxury and are all very happy and each one is loved to pieces. The owner was amazing and because she knows the dog's so well, she was able to select a few perfect dogs for us to choose from. She didn't just think about dogs that hadn't mauled a child before, but relevant attributes e.g not too hyperactive, will take food gently etc. The only problem was our possible matches were a bit too perfect. It was soo hard choosing but we were able to visit with the kids as much as we liked and never felt like we were being a pain... It's a bit of a drive with the kids but I will travel down from Scotland in future if I had to. Be warned: these dogs are loved to bits. Any attempt to pull the wool over the owner's eyes will probably result in a big bite (not from the dogs) ;-) Adoption: June 2013

This is such a wonderful charity & rescue. The animals have great conditions to live in whilst waiting for a forever home. The kennels encompass you so you feel like you are part of a big family. With lots of on hand advice and many events to meet and socialise with other adoptees. Adoption: Jan 2013

Celia Cross Greyhound Trust, is an outstanding rescue centre. The manager and team are very knowledgable and helpful. They work extremely hard to ensure the adoption process is right for the dog and owner. They have offered great support before and after adoptition,
We have now had Trigger 10 months and he has brought us all so much joy! We have enjoyed the variety of events planned though the year, Trigger is always made a fuss of when we go back. Adoption: Oct 2012

Celia Cross Greyhound and Lurcher rescue is a excellent organisation I have now rescued four greyhounds from here and I reccommend it to anyone who wants a dog. The caring and comfortable environment and the attitude of the staff brings tears to your eyes, especially the appalling state some of the rescue dogs arrive in. In my mind THE BEST !!! The Celia Cross Greyhound Trust are very special, I have had 2 beautiful Lurchers from them who have been the most wonderful dogs.
Once they arrive to the safety of Celia Cross the dogs are loved and cared for, nursed into full health and ready to be re homed, the staff are so dedicated and they have lots of volunteers that walk the dogs.
Once you have brought your dog home you feel supported by the staff if there are any problems, I can't recommend this rescue highly enough for the work they do and most importantly the care they show for their dogs. Adoption: Aug 2012

The team at CCGT do a fantastic job, I have rescued 2 previous lurchers so I sort of know the ropes as it were but lots of advice was offered. The team were clearly very fond of all the dogs & the dogs like wise. I visited the kennels on Monday and my initial choice was confirmed, I have since visited every day to walk him and get to know him. I have been made to feel very welcome at each visit. The home check was carried out competently and quickly, my current dog was accessed to ensure that the adoption would work. The staff did their upmost at each stage to ensure that all would go as smoothly as possible and it did. A great team doing wonderful job. Adoption: 2012

When we arrived, all the longtails were our socialising together which was lovely to see as you could assess their behaviour together. We fell in love with them all as they were all so happy and then made the choice to rehome one to go with our other dog. He settled in straight away and has been a delight in our home ever since. We have popped in a few times over the last year and keep in contact on fb to let everyone know how lovely the people and dogs are there. They spend alot of time and effort at the trust to ensure that all the dogs are cared for and happy. They are lovely people and would recommend them to anyone! Adoption: July 2012

First came across their Facebook page after a google search and after a few months following their brilliant facebook page which is always updated regularly by the charity and users/adopters themselves I decided to look at adopting ( I have a rescue closer but this one is much cleaner and better managed than my local one that we adopted our first greyhound from). The process of adopting was straight forward with no nonsense , everything made clear from the start. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the place looked very clean and the dogs very well cared for. I have since stayed in contact via Facebook giving the rescue regular updates and we have gone back to visit since too. I would use this rescue in the future and I always recommend it to friends and share updates of new dogs looking for homes via my Facebook page. I only wish I lived closer because I would love to have been able to volunteer here, they appear to be a very close knit family/rescue and are very well organised, for me the most important thing about renaming the dogs is giving them the correct publicity , if the public do not get enough up to date information it can out people off, but this rescue has excellent communication with the public via their website and Facebook page.

I have re-homed 4 dogs from Celia Cross Greyhound Trust over the last 17 years. The dogs are so loved and looked after in the home. I have always been pleased with the help and advice from every one at the home. Not only do you re-home a dog, but you become part of the Celia Cross expended family. Adoption: 2012

The process of adopting a dog should be a pleasurable one, from the anticipation and hope of finding a companion to the happiness of taking ones new friend home. In this respect Celia Cross GT exceeded my expectations.
From the warm greeting at the gate onwards it is immediately apparent that everyone connected with the rescue very much care about the animals in their keep. The Kennels are very clean and obviously very well maintained. The assessment and knowledge of each of the dogs is impressive.
While waiting for some paperwork to be completed, I witnessed the appraisal and the planning for the socialisation of one of the dogs. It was obvious just how much effort care and skill went into the process, again very impressive indeed.
I was also able to see some of the dogs getting their exercise, to my mind one of the pleasures in life is to watch long tails running around and enjoying themselves, at CCGT the dogs certainly were able to do so and in a safe environment.
The adoption process was thorough (quite rightly) but not onerous. Every courtesy was extended to me, and it was made very clear that they were there to help if any help were needed in the future.
In summary, a rescue of the highest caliber, Dogs exceptionally well looked after and prepared for their new homes. Especially well managed and staffed. Adoption: 2012

I cant say it was a positive experience, just an amazing one. The staff are wonderful and the greyhounds are loved and cared for. When they come into Celia cross with injuries or ill, they are given 110% care even being tucked up under a duvet If a rehomed greyhound gets lost the Celia cross family all band together and go out looking for the lost greyhound. Its a truly amazing rescue home and family for the unfortunate greyhounds and one huge family with a J at the head. Adoption: Feb 2012

I'm amazed that the dogs ever want to leave!
The kennels are spotless and in a beautiful location. The dogs are happy and calm, and obviously well cared for.
The staff are knowledgeable and accommodating, and I was allowed to visit every day between selecting my greyhound and bringing him home. This obviously helped enormously when I did get him home, as he already knew me.
We are always welcomed back to the kennels for visits, and we know that we count on their support if we every have any questions. Can't recommend Celia Cross Greyhound Trust highly enough! Adoption: 2011

From first contact onwards the whole experience has been a pleasure, the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and most importantly love all the dogs in their care! Even now, 6 months later they are always available for advice and keep in touch with all their ex-rescue dogs via facebook - I have made some good friends through adopting my dog from here and would do it again for certain. The staff are friendly and happy in their work and they love the dogs. There is a welcoming family atmosphere and great care is taken to get to know the dogs and their personalities and to match them with potential adopters. The kennels are clean and the dogs have heated beds and their own duvets. The setting is lovely with a huge field for the dogs to use.

The Celia Cross Greyhound Trust made sure to make me feel welcome, and like a part of their family. Interaction with all of the dogs is not only optional, but encouraged, to make sure that the prospective owner gets to know the dogs, but so that the dogs get as much attention as possible. The kennels are heated and attractive, and always very clean. There is a very pleasant, chilled atmosphere in the kennels and the hounds definitely enjoy their stay in the kennels before they find a forever home. There is a huge fully enclosed field where the dogs can run freely and safely and they all get out of the kennels three or four times a day for walks, runs, or cuddles! They are fed the highest quality food and are in excellent health all round. The staff are always on hand to help, both with choosing a hand, or offering support to those who have already adopted a dog. Genuine love and affection is shown to all of the animals in the centre's care, and this really shows. I couldn't rate this rescue centre any higher - 5 stars! Adoption: 2011

After the sad loss of our whippet, we decided to try CCGT we had spoken to the manager a couple years before at a fund raising event & found her to be a very committed & knowledeable person. We arrived to find a friendly welcoming atmosphere where nothing was to much trouble. One of the first things we noticed was how happy & contented the dogs were & loved the fact that CCGT had paired them up so they were not lonley the assessment of the dogs is second to none & the kennels were spotless. We have had Basil for almost a year now & can honestly say adopting him was one of the best things we have ever done! Basil is very much part of our family he loves our family & other two dogs one of them a jack russel whom he sleeps with! longtails are the most gentle loving cuddle monkeys we love them & thank the manager & staff at Celia Cross what a great team! xx. Having been to see Buster, we took our dog along to meet him, but unfortunately they did not get along. However Poppy was looking for a home, and they got on fine. They have a large secure field in which the dogs could run and play together to get acquainted. As we had already had our home check, we were able to take her away on the day.
The staff are brilliant, caring and committed to the dogs, and what struck me was the fact that given the number of dogs being cared for, the place was so peaceful, not the noisy chaos I have encountered at other kennels. All the dogs were comfortable, content and happy to be there. Five stars all round. Adoption: 2010

Everyone who works or volunteers at Celia Cross clearly has the dogs best interests at heart. They are a dedicated bunch, not only looking after local longtails but also taking in many unfortunate ex-racers/non-chasers from other dog rescues including all the way from Ireland. The team work tirelessly to raise funds, whilst also increasing awareness of what superb pets greyhounds and lurchers make. They have won the burgess wetnose award for best breed rescue 2 years running, this speaks for itself. Adoption: 2010

This was my second adoption from Celia Cross, the staff and volunteers are second to none, the conditions the hounds are kept in are again, second to none, with heated kennels and scrupulously clean environment. The animals are treated as individuals and by the time they are homed are very ready to live lives in a home environment, which is a bonus as these poor animals, in the main, have come from racing kennels and cages with little or no affection shown. Adoption: 2009

This is an amazing trust, with a real passion for the breed. The dog was neutered and fully vaccinated, and the rescue centre have also provided a lot of after care. I was matched to the right dog after seeing a few and getting to know them! I was matched to one they knew was cat-workable so it worked out really well. Could not recommend more highly. CCGT staff took time to understand what we were looking for, and were very knowledgeable about the animals in their care. We had the opportunity to see all the dogs, abs walk a couple of our "favourites". Went back the following day with our own dog to ensure they got on well.
There has always been telephone or in-person support, even after 4 years I know I can contact them to ask anything I can concerned about.
Thoroughly recommend them if you are even remotely considering adopting a Greyhound or Lurcher! Adoption: 2008

I have now had Seanna for five years and still visit Celia Cross's often - they are always helpful if advice is needed and they love seeing their rehomed greyhounds. It has a real family atmosphere and we are all part of the family. The staff are all very hard-working and devoted to the dogs in their care. The kennels are immaculate and there is a wonderful, large field where the greyhounds get plenty of exercise. Adoption: June 2007
