Heartbreakingly we had to re home our one year old pedigree red fox lab. She was a typical lockdown dog insufficiently socialised. She likes ladies but not gents and walking her around the village was proving a challenge. We just couldn’t cope with her constant enthusiasm and unpredictability, alas. Labrador lifeline we’re brilliant with the right mix of empathy and practicality. Happy to have donated to their work too.

We decided to rehome our 2 labrador puppies due to personal circumstance and for the best interest of the puppies. I initially called and decided to not go ahead with the rehoming as I struggled to let go of them. However, a month later I called Anne again as we really couldn't manage . Anne has been so helpful and understanding throughout the process. It has broken our heats to give up our girls but we know they are in safe hands. Updated are given as requested and Anne is open and honest every ste p fo the way.
This is a chairty and the helpers donate their own private time to assist - thank you to everyone, Anne, the helper who collected our beautiful girls, the foister parents who currently have them and to their future owners.Review by: Candice

We are so delighted with Labrador Lifeline, their excellent communication skills ensured we were always informed, advised and supported appropriately. They took into consideration all our personal circumstances and matched us with the most amazing Labrador, we could not have hoped for a better dog. When we collected him he was not at Labrador Lifeline but was homed at supporting kennels which cared for him and highlighted the urgency to find him a home, as he was becoming bored and destructive. The early recognition of this and subsequent re homing meant we have not experienced any problems.
We cannot thank Labrador lifeline enough for making the process so smooth and enabling us to provide a home for life for the most wonderful dog!.Review by: The Keelings

There truly was nothing to complain about or criticise. Of course it was difficult to be absolutely accurate with your questionaire as I visited a foster dog handler and not a centre. The organisation is run beautifully and the main concern is that the animal is matched with the right future home/owner. and so excellent

This was my first rescue Labrador, Harvey was perfectly matched to my needs along with my family's by Labrador Life Line. The support and aftercare has been first class, all my worries and concerns were answered with positive professionalism. I'm most impressed by the willingness of not only the area coordinator but that of the foster home he came from. I was also given the foster homes contact details and was also encouraged to keep in contact with Harvey's progress. LLL have some wonderful dedicated members. Thank you so much for Harvey, he is truly a gift from heaven. Adoption: Feb 2013

Dog was matched very well with us. We were visited and our premises inspected and we were told all about the dog we were adopting and as much of his background as possible. We had backup support on the phone when a slight problem arose and we needed advice. All in all, they are a great service for both dogs and owners. Adoption: 2012

Labrador delivered to me. Co-ordinator stayed a long time to see the animal settled and was happy with my dog. I am very satisfied with all aspects of the adoption. Follow up has been excellent - the trust is obviously very caring and takes great deal of trouble placing animals in suitable homes. Adoption: 2012

We were visited initially as potential fosterers. Our contact was professional, explaining clearly how the system worked, what was expected from us and what the charity could offer to support us. When we decided that we wanted to adopt the dog that came into our care, we were given first option and talked through the pros and cons - at no time was any pressure put upon us to foster or adopt. A very positive experience and we now have a lovely pet labrador, who we feel we've given a good home to. Adoption: 2012

The team at Labrador Lifeline Trust were brilliant. The lady who came to do the home visit and the area liaison took on board our requirements and needs and met them fully. It did take quite a while to find the right match, but worth the wait. Our new pup is a joy to have around and is simply perfect - would not change her for the world. Adoption: 2012

We were visited very quickly after applying, procedure explained fully and we set out, quite specifically, the type of dog we wanted. As expected, we waited several months, during which time the Trust maintained contact with us. We have been given a wonderful dog which almost exactly matched our request - well worth the wait. The aftercare and support has been superb. The Trust's team have done everything possible to help us with the dog and deal with her ongoing, but improving, health issues. Adoption: 2012

We had a Labrador shaped hole in our life for around 6 months after losing our Black Labrador Jet. We met up with the local representatives for the trust who explained that they like to do rehomings directly from home to home wherever possible.
We offered to help with short term fostering a very scared girl with a view to adopting however it became apparent quickly that this youngster needed to be with other dogs - so with the telephone and e-mail support the Trust - this girl was found a new home in less than 10 days. The trust had already identified Ellie for us as being a good match as she was approaching 7 months old and had been in Kennels for several weeks through no fault of her own - the trust volunteers transported Ellie across the country for us some two weeks after we rehomed the foster girl. She has settled in very well and we have kept intouch with the trust with follow up visits and we send notes of Ellie's adventures with the some progress photo's. I have recommended the Trust to several other families who were seeking a new family member and it is highly likely that some time this year we shall look for another Labrador to join our family.
My thanks go to the Trust as without them we would have a very quiet house and life wouldn't be as much fun, as Ellie brings us so much joy and pleasure. Adoption: 2011 -

I adopted a 2 year old labrador that was in great condition physically but which had a few socialisation issues which I was fully informed about prior to adoption. As an experienced labrador owner I was deemed suitable to adopt this particular dog and I am delighted to say that my labrador Shadow quickly fitted in with my family and other dogs - she is now a very settled and happy family dog. I was really impressed by the volunteers at Labrador Lifeline who made sure Shadow was going to fit in with us and regularly keep in touch to check that she is ok. Adoption: 2011

I have adopted two dogs from Labrador Lifeline Trust the first some 5 years ago was a very young dog to be a companion to my old Labrador. She came to me in very good condition and I had a lot of help from the Trust in finding training and help with settling her in. Last year after my old dog died I adopted and older dog from the Trust, again they were very careful to help me find the dog best suited to live with my now very spoiled girl. I could not be more happy with the way they deal with requests and help with the settling in of a new dog. Each year I get at least one phone call to find out how we are all getting on. Jess and Barney the dogs I have adopted are lovely dogs and even though they have had small problems I would not be with out them. Adopting a dog can come with problems but the reward is worth it. Our experience with the labrador lifeline trust was absolutely superb.
Our case was somewhat complicated in that we were looking for a dog but our youngest son who is 8, has autism and his movements can sometimes be erratic or unexpected. We had to know we could trust the dog around our children COMPLETELY.
We mainly had dealings with one lady, and from the start she was extremely friendly, thorough and quite obviously wanted the best for both the dog and our family. She was very professional, going into every single detail of the procedure so clearly and calmly, ensuring we fully understood what would/could happen. The exact costs were explained, the visits that would be made to ensure everything had gone smoothly etc, I felt I completely trusted the process.
We were hoping for as young a dog as possible, which didn't look very promising but then fate stepped in and brought Harvey.
We were introduced to him in our home environment and instantly fell in love with him. We were given his full history and told any possible problems we might expect from him etc. As we were about to have guests staying and our house is quite small we decided it would be best for all concerned to wait until everything had settled back to normal to make the transition as smooth as possible. Harvey was fostered by the trust during that time and then he was brought to our home.
To be honest the whole experience was wonderful! The trust made calls to ensure everything was ok, offered help immediately if needed, they microchipped him free of charge and made two visits to make sure everything was fine. Luckily for all of us has been perfect. It was a match made in heaven and we absolutely couldn't imagine life without him.
On reflection though, with the amount of care the labrador lifeline put into homing their dogs I honestly cannot imagine many , if any rehomes going wrong. They could not improve their service in my mind, it was completely flawless. Adoption: 2011 -

Initial enquiry was responded to immediately and great care given to finding an appropriate dog, in our case middle aged and a good traveller. I felt that the interview process was very thorough ensuring that both the dog and new owners needs would be met and that the match would be the right one. In our case this has proved to be the perfect one! Adoption: 2011

Labrador Lifeline truly love the dogs they re-home, the care that goes into making sure the right dog is settled with the right new owner & home was very reassuring. I feel very lucky indeed to have found my gorgeous girl...at nine & a half years old when I found out about her plight... the oldies not always being the most popular or the easiest to re-home; I couldn't wait to meet her, get through the home checks etc & bring her home. It has been the best & most rewarding thing I have ever experienced...Bettyboo fitted into our home like she had always been there, a clever girl who learns fast, is eager to please & the greatest fun. We now work hard on keeping her fit & healthy to hopefully prolong the wonderful & happy life we have found & share together. THANKYOU for giving me the opportunity & the privilege of rescuing such a wonderful dog. Adoption: 2010

All the staff from the home locators through to the kennel owners /staff all had our dogs best interests at heart ... they met us as family( and took on board that we had an autistic child ) and found us a dog that fitted in with our family, great care was given to ensure that our dog was happy and safe in her new surroundings and that she was settling in well, we were given all the information they had on her and have been a great source of advise over the years as the help and support doesnt just end on adoption we are kept up to date with lab life line new rehomed dogs stories, health advise and fund raising events through the lab life line magazine , the fund raising events are great fun for all the family and a chance to meet other rescue dogs and their new owners.
Our families experience has been an excellent one that we would highly recomend to anyone looking for a rescue lab. Adoption: 2010 -

What makes this organisation stand out from other dog rescues is the level of support both prior and following the dog coming into the new family. They actively encourage photos and updates and are always on the end of the 'phone when needed or just for a chat about the new family member.
since contacting TLLT initially I have become a helper. Adoption: 2010 -

I stated my preference was for an older dog and after a few months wait I was offered Bonnie, an 8 year old . It was love at first sight for us both, and she has been a loyal friend ever since. 11 now and still enjoying her walks, her food (she is a labrador!) caravaning and simply being with her family. Never a minutes trouble - we love her to bits and would highly recommend the Trust to adopt from. We couldn,t be better suited. Adoption: 2009

Labrador Lifeline Trust and its representative were efficient, helpful, caring and supportive for us and the labrador we fostered and then adopted. Care was taken to match us with a dog that met our requirements, but, more importantly, to ensure that our dog, who had already had 3 different homes in his young life, was homed in a stable environment where he could remain withoug further upheaval and stress. Since we have had our dog, if we have wanted any information they have always been very helpful with regards to all our questions. Before getting our dog we had a vist from them and within hours of getting our dog home they made another visit to see how the dog was getting on. It was good to see that they had the welfare of the dog one of the most important issues. Adoption: 2006

The care taken to ensure we got the right dog was excellent. The care taken before & after adoption to ensure that Twiggy was happy & content with us cannot be faulted. We have recommendeed the LLT to many people looking for a pet & will continue to do so. Twiggy fitted in like a glove with our other pets from the first moment she arrived. Thank you LLT.
