The rescue centre is in a lovely area, very quiet and rural for the animals and it felt safe. I was taken in to meet the cats which were able to live with dogs and child friendly as requested ; the volunteer who took me around was organised and knew which cats were available. I was able to spend some time with each cat before I made a decision. The volunteer chatted to me and I felt comfortable to ask questions.

The cats all had clean homes, food and water, toys and bedding, access to fresh air and there were plenty of volunteers to give the cats attention. I thought it would be sad seeing cats in a rescue home but they all looked well cared for which reassured me.

I was given a detailed adoption pack and the manager went through the details with me so I felt well informed. I was told I could contact them with any questions or issues after I took the cat home. Very happy with the centre and service 👍🏻

The staff are great and very caring towards the animals. The pens were clean and looked after as were the cats and kittens. They were very efficient and told us all the information we needed. The address directions were correct when put into google maps but the rescue centre is down a single lane dirt road which isn't a problem at all but it isn't sign posted as far as we saw. Little arrows or signs with the logo would have made us feel more comfortable as it kind of felt like you were going down someone's drive.

We adopted our little pensioner James in March. He had been taken in by YCR and given extensive (and expensive) dental treatment which made his life a lot easier. He was very well cared for by the staff and volunteers who all loved to visit his pen (with under floor heating!) for a cuddle. He settled straight into home life and is well loved. The manager made it clear that if we had any issues at all we could contact them to discuss. He was snipped, chipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea'd. We were given a collar and tag, a voucher for good quality food, and a months free cover with PetPlan - who will cover an older cat from a rescue centre.
For those who have trouble locating the centre, use the postcode of the street directly opposite - BD22 9AB. The turn you need to make is very sharp and is a steep sloping track.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Yorkshire Cat Rescue, they care about what they do and it shows in their animals.
