This rescue is very knowledgeable and helpful both pre and post adoption of the dogs. I got my beautiful lab X from here and have had full support and great advice on settling her in. My dog came vaccinated, spayed and microchipped, and has been a perfect addition to the family

We have two dogs who we adopted from Futures for Dogs. Both of them are fantastic and we couldn’t fault them at all. Stevie was so helpful and welcoming and I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a dog. She made sure we ended up with two terrific dogs who fit in perfectly with our family.

We received a warm welcome, but more importantly, Futures for Dogs assessed us as future owners. They inspected our home, recommended changes to our lifestyle in order to make the home more comfortable for the adopted dog and made it clear that they would not allow us to take a dog which was not neutered and did not have up to date vaccinations. I was impressed not only by their professionalism, but how much they cared about the future of the dog that they eventually placed with us. I am pleased to say that our dog Monty is now a valued member of our family.

After loosing one of our 5 rescued dogs from futures for dogs we were adopted by number 6. All the dogs here are happy healthy and treated like members of the family. The home check was painless. The follow upafter the adoption was faultless. This organisation truly puts the dogs first and they are always grateful to be kept informed after the adoption on the wellbeing of the dog. They go the extra mile in making sure that dog and new owner are suitable matched. And remarkably you could turn up with one of their dogs a few years later and they will remember the dog as tough it was only adopted yesterday.

A lovely caring rescue organisation. The dogs are all treated as individuals in a home environment and great care is taken to ensure that the right dog is matched to the right home. The foster carers genuinely love the dogs and do everything possible to improve their lives and nothing is too much effort.

Everyone that spoke to us was helpful, the dogsall seemed happy and friendly. We have a daughter of infant school Age and other rescues had put us off but Futures for dogs allowed us to come and meet the dogs they had assessed and were child friendly.
I was helped to book up some training classes and came away knowing I could just pick up the phone if I needed to.
I was also given advice on current food and feedingReview by: C.Weatherall

I think it speak for itself that we now have four dogs from Futures for Dogs, and I thoroughly recommend them to anyone looking to rescue. Our dogs are part of our family, and given their backgrounds, which we were told about before any adoption was even discussed, we have had full and effective support in settling them into our home, which happened quickly. This is because they are given such a good start by the rescue and their fosterers. Also they have been fully vet-checked and are healthy, which gives you peace of mind. I think they are brilliant and so dedicated. Please recommend them.

The whole process was friendly but with the rescue dog's interest firmly at the centre and professionally re homed. They have stayed in contact, and I really recommend it to anyone looking to rescue a dog. What was excellent was the lady's ability to pair dog's up with the right owners. We took two dogs and they have quickly become part of our family which includes an older dog and cats. I have a great deal of respect for the dedication that Futures for Dogs has, and the genuine on going care and interest in the dogs you adopt, and you. Adoption: November 2013

This rescue is brilliant. They are lovely, caring people, ready to help humans and animals alike. We are very grateful that they crate-trained our pup so she is happy to sleep all night long in her crate, far from temptations during the night, ensuring our and her good night rest. The only nag we have, that they still didn't organise a reunion meeting with our dog's litter mates. But I think we can live with this ;)Thanks for everything. Adoption: June 2012Sue

I have had a grand total of 8 dogs over the years from futures for dogs. I cannot praise them highly enough. Stevie will do anything for the animals in her care and is amazing in her tireless mission to help every dog that needs it. Every dog is very well looked after and they take the time to get to know each dog and match the right dog with the right owner. We have a house full of mutts that are much loved and are a very important part of our family. All thanks to futures for dogs. If you are looking for a rescue dog, don't go anywhere else! I cannot speak highly enough of Futures For Dogs. What sets them apart from other rescues is that all the dogs are fostered in private homes where they can be fully assessed for temperament and behaviour before they are made available for adoption. This is so important when there is often no history available. The criteria for adoption is often strict but this is necessary to ensure that the dogs go to the right homes for life. So often we hear of dogs being returned to other rescues but this doesn't happen with Futures for Dogs because the extra effort is made to match dogs with new owners to ensure their new homes are "forever". They are always on hand with help and advice for new owners and foster families and nothing is too much trouble. Last year we adopted Woody, a 10 year old terrier who allegedly didn't like other dogs. However with help from FFD and training classes, this old boy learned lots of new tricks and we were then able to adopt Millie who settled in beautifully and who Woody accepted quite happily. Sadly, Woody is no longer with us but we shall definitely be looking for a new companion for Millie and in the meantime are hoping that we can step up to fostering. The volunteers work tirelessly both caring for the dogs and fund-raising. With the cruelty cases that seem to come in far too often, I don't know how Stevie and the volunteers cope financially, particularly with large vet bills and the extra care that these dogs inevitably require. However they never seem to turn a cruelty case away and there is endless love to give to the dogs. Sadly the funds are not endless and are always needed and very gratefully received. We had such a positive experience using the Futures for Dogs rehoming service and are so thankful that they gave our little girl such a great start to life after her journey from Ireland. The volunteer who managed our case was loving to all those in her care and put their best interests above anyone else's. We were made to feel welcome and yet very much aware that we had to be completely sure of our decision to take on the responsibilities of having Little Miss C. There was an abundance of advice that we were given time to digest in order to make the right decision. It was also made clear that we did not have to be alone in any future issues that arose as Futures was only a phone call away. Paperwork was explained clearly and concisely and even an invite to a doggy party was extended to us. The visit to our home was thorough but relaxed and again it was clear the dog's future happiness was placed equal to ours. We look forward to future meetings with the volunteer who loved our girl like we do and hope to keep in touch and offer support in fundraising for what is such a fantastic cause. I visit here from time to time. Occasionally I help on a voluntary basis by working with re-homed dogs and their adopters if there are behaviour problems after adoption. I work with other rescues and can honestly say that Stevie and her volunteers go more than the 'extra mile'. The dedication, hard work and selflessness of Stevie and her volunteers goes beyond what is normal. This is an amazing rescue, where the dogs/animals always come first. Visit: March 2013

We adopted Charley Bucket after visiting Stevie's home and seeing her gang of about 8 puppies and dogs - all in great shape but Charley came over and kissed us so we knew he was the one for us. He is now about 9 months and a fabulous dog. Stevie gave us lost of help and advice and we are planning to return for a companion for Charley as soon as we can.

Coco is our second dog from Futures for dogs and we would choose this rescue every time! the love and support offered to the dogs is second to none. I love the fact that each dog is fostered until a suitable home is found. Each dog is closely monitored for suitability which is the long run prevents "mistake" adoptions. We love our Gypsy and Coco to the moon and back and also rescued 2 kittens from here aswell! This is not a rescue of here is your dog ta ta! it is ongoing and I know I can contact them at anytime for help and advice. Futures for dogs really are doing a FANTASTIC job x Adoption: Sept 2012

We are very impressed with Futures for Dogs, they all work so hard and are dedicated to the wellbeing of the dogs in their care. We adopted our Rags almost a year ago, she had been so badly abused but Futures did a wonderful job getting her back to good health, and ready for her new home. She has settled so well and is now very much a member of the family, an adorable little girl, we couldn't be without her.
We would recommend Futures for Dogs to anyone looking to re-home a dog. Adoption: Aug 2012 -

Home check thorough and some advise given.Collected our lovely lad a couple of days later.Seemed to genuinely care about dog/pups in charities care. Whenever seen at fundraising events, around town or visiting is interested in his progress. Like the way their dogs/pups are fostered in homes as well socialised and used to everyday sights and sounds and family life, which must make settling in to their forever home much easier for them. Feel that could always get advise if needed. Would recomend if looking to rehome a dog. Adoption: April 2012

Futures For Dogs do amazing work. They really do vet prospective new owners, are there for you beyond adoption and I'm also hugely impressed with the system they have of fostering dogs in local homes until they find a permanent home. My traumatized but so gentle Queenie and her pups were fortunate to be rescued by them and I am SO fortunate to have been allowed to give Queenie a home. Can't praise them enough! Adoption: 2012

Would just like to say a big thanks to all our owners and of course our foster homes who work so hard with all our rescues. I have owned 3 of our rescue dogs over the years and know how much hard work goes into looking after these rescues in our own homes. Some may have difficulites setteling into new homes the first month is always a "honeymoon " period for any new dog. I know that even with my own rescues. We do try hard to do as much for them as we can but there may always be 1 or 2 that may still need that extra time with thier new owners but at least by being with the foster homes they have been a good start to a new life that other rescues may not get. Thank you to all our foster homes and helpers. Stevie.

We just happened across the organisation Futures for Dogs when at a charity dog show. We fell in love with a little ginger girlie and thought she would fit in well with our other dogs. The homecheck was thorough (I know this as I used to do homechecks for another charity) and we were given lots of good advice as well as things to think about. We were given 4 weeks free insurance when we adopted which we continued. One of the nice things is being able to keep in touch via the facebook page and the fact that the everyone is interested in how the puppy is getting on. The only things that could improve is being able to get through on the phone straight away as they are always so busy! Really caring organisation. Adoption: 2011

We rescued our dog from futures For Dogs a couple of months ago. He is our second rescue and I wish we had of known about this wonderful charity the first time round. The home checks are thorough (even though they knew we had been home checked within the last year). I particularly like that all the dogs are in foster homes, never in kennels. The welfare of the dog is paramount. The adoption process is quick and simple, so long as you meet their strict criteria! They are very friendly and offer all the advice you need on taking on a rescue. The dogs are crate trained and come to you with a months free Pet Plan insurance. I know that if I ever have any problems or worries that they are only a phone call away and will be more than happy to help.

When I lost my dog earlier this year I wanted to find another I could love and give a good home to. I was wary about going to a breeder, having visited one that was not a good experience. I started to look at various animal rescue sites on the internet and I found Futures for Dogs through Facebook. I kept checking to see if there were any suitable dogs for me and eventually saw the story of a little yorkshire terrier who had been through a terrible time and was looking for a home. I'd almost given up on finding a dog through this process but when I read her story the tears were streaming down my face and I knew she was right for me. So I e-mailed and filled out the application form. Futures for Dogs were in contact with me really quickly with lots of info and a visit was arranged with excellent directions of how to find them. I meet the lady who runs things and was full of admiration for the fantastic, dedicated work they do, truely unsung heros. My little girl was rather poorly but we wanted to bring her home as soon as poss so had a home check the same day (lucky for us - and another lovely lady). We stayed in touch through the early settling in stages and I knew I could just pick up the phone at anytime. My Rose (my new name for my yorkie) is now well loved by the whole family and settled in really quickly. She has a wonderful loving temperament which some people are surprised at when they hear about the cruelty that she has suffered. I would recommend to anyone (and I do frequently) to give a home to a rescue dog. I feel this small, friendly organisation provide a very professional service with extremely limited funds. I have been to several fundraising events to offer some support when I can and try to spread the word amongst family and friends.
I cannot speak highly enough of them and have learnt a lot not only about the unspeakable cruelty that some animals have to go through and what we can do to change that but also the wonderful people that are out there trying to make a difference. I am so pleased to have found this organisation and couldn't be happier with my wonderful little dog. Adoption: 2011 -

I'm a repeat customer having adopted Sam in August 2008 and Tilly in December 2010. As the dogs are home fostered they settle very easily and are on a natural good quality diet which helps too. The carers that I have met have been wonderful and give good advice as to the individual character of the dog you are adopting. Tilly and Sam are much loved and we are so thankful that Futures for Dogs rescued them. Adoption: 2010

I have had 3 dogs from Futures for dogs, mine, my mum and my mother-in-law all are excellent .
I had a little trouble with mine at first not being used to a puppy but got invaluable help from the staff at all times even when i was nearly ready to give up.
Would have liked to Foster , but too scared i wouldn't be able to give them up. Well done to all the staff. Adoption: 2011 -

There are so many wonderful things I want to say about this Rescue Centre. Their website is very informative. (name removed) who runs the Rescue, is dedicated to the welfare of the puppies and dogs in her care and therefore meets and talks to families about the animal they wish to adopt. All puppies and dogs are fostered in a home environment and therefore (name removed) or the foster carers are able to give accurate information about the puppy or dog. A home check is also done. After adoption, the Rescue will be in contact to check everything is going well. The Rescue is always happy to help with any advice at any time after adoption. Through Futures for Dogs Rescue Centre we adopted Doody who is a lovely dog. I was so impressed with the work of this Organisation, that I decided to help them out by fostering a puppy. This puppy bonded so well with Doody that we could not bear to part with him, so Dino also joined our family. We have since fostered three more puppies. It is a 'close knit' Centre with people helping each other on 'doggy issues' and I have made some good friends through dog adoption, fostering and fund raising events. I would highly recommend Futures for Dogs Rescue Centre. Adoption: 2010

A rescue run by and supported by people with only the dogs' best interests at heart. Selfless care for the dogs shows in their knowledge of the animals and the advice given to potential new owners. Home check was thorough and conducted with common sense. When our puppy adopted us the house and crate training she received at her foster home helped with her settling in. Have always known that we can contact the rescue for any advice and that their support is on-going. Thank you Futures for Dogs xx Adoption: 2010

I have two dogs from Futures For Dogs. I like the fact that all the dogs are fostered in family homes and crate trained - great help in house training.
I think the difference here is that they know the dogs so well as they are fostered and not in kennels. They also spend time getting to know the prospective owners and the home checkers are extremely knowledgeable too. Adoption: 2009 -

I have 4 dogs from FFD, all very different but all fantastic dogs & the care & support given was very good. The foster care the dogs receive before rehoming is aimed at helping the dogs settle in well to their new homes with the minimum of disruption which helps both the dog & their new owner. All the poeple that help with Futures for Dogs are amazing, they aren't there to criticise only to help. We did not think that we would be allowed a dog as we had to have our dear boy PTS however I received a call from Stevie who completely lifted the burden from my shoulders. We adopted Gypsy from the fosterers who still now give me advice, they have become my friends along with the rest of the owners, we all support eachother even when Gypsy was run over there was oodles of help and support. If you are thinking of adopting or even fostering a dog these are the people to choose, we are so please with our Gypsy, love her to bits. It's not just about taking a dog its the continued after support too. Adoption: 2009

Futures For Dogs are doing an outstanding job in taking in abandoned or unwanted dogs and rehoming them with caring and responsible owners. They care so much for each and every dog and keep in touch with how they are doing.
What can they do better? Encourage people to raise more money on their behalf so they can do more of the good work they do already. Adoption: 2009 -

The manager gave us all the time we needed to make our decision. She clearly cares for her foster dogs as much as she does her own and I was very moved by the last cuddle she had to squeeze in, holding back a tear or two, before she finally handed us OUR dog. The home check was thorough but the checkers were very kind and put us at ease as it's always a stressful process for any well meaning family looking to adopt a rescue. Adoption: 2008

I got my dog Boomer from futures for dogs and he is a wonderful dog. As they use foster carers and not kennels to look after the dogs they are happy and well socialised and you know if they get on with other dogs or animals. The foster carers treat them like their own and they have all there jabs, microchips and are spayed/neutuered if at the right age before you pick them up so you know they are healthy. We found FuturesforDogs on the web and liked the look of a crossbreed young female that was featured. I am delighted to say that we successfully adopted her. We would like to adopt a second dog in the summer and will go to FuturesforDogs, before any other rescue, to see who needs a forever home.
The FuturesforDogs web description given about our (soon to be) dog was clear, honest and informative and several different pictures were shown. The web presentation was much better here than in some other rescue (or breeder) web sites.
The dog we adopted was one of four being cared for at the foster home we visited. The love and care given to all the dogs shone through. The Carer was giving the puppies/ young dogs a loving and structured home while teaching them manners and commands. She did this extremely well as all four dogs were young, bouncy and incredibly friendly.
We were 'vetted' ourselves and a house check was carried out. The handover arrangements were well organised: all insurance and health information & documents given.
The sincerity of the carer and the good organisation of FuturesforDogs was considerable.
