Although I have adopted a Blue Cross pony he did not come directly from the centre and as I have never visited Rolleston I have been unable to comment or answer the questions directly relating to this. However all my communications have been excellent and the staff I have met have been lovely. Because our pony was coming directly from his owners in Yorkshire the cost to have him delivered was very expensive which to start with I hadn’t factored in. I found my own horse transport, Equitaxi who are locally based to me and Rolleston and turned out to be a much cheaper option than others recommended by BC. They took care of the pony brilliantly especially as the journey was over 2 hours and he’d never travelled before. Please add them to your recommended list.
It has been less than a week since our BC pony arrived and we are very pleased with him, he is a perfect match for our situation and I would recommend anyone thinking of adopting to go for it, there are so many who long for a loving home.

This survey is not truly appropriate to horse rescue but I have answered the cage question as if it were a stable and grazing. I needed a companion for my pony very quickly and the process for adoption of a companion was done quickly. The pony is easy to han dle but she was not easy to travel and I think that there could have been a better preparation for this.

No problems with the staff/location/care of animals.
Only issue I have is that the website and paperwork said the animal was 18 yrs old. I took out a veteran insurance only to find out she was only 14 yrs old and not eligible so had to mess about finding other insurance. Also the name on the passport was different to the name Blue Cross gave her which could lead to confusion when trying to insure.
Blue Cross just need to ensure that all this information is accurate for the potential adopter.
